I write heartwarming historical sagas usually set in Scotland. I do a lot of research to ensure that my characters’ stories are immersed in authentic backgrounds and real life events. That means as well as happy endings, there is some grittiness and some heavier themes reflecting real life in those days.

I have always loved writing and began by writing short fiction for women’s magazines. I then discovered the wonderful world of pocket novels and wrote over 20 which were published by DC Thomson and also as large print library Linford romances by Ulverscroft – most of these are still available in libraries if you’d like to read them.

I love reading romantic and historical sagas and so it felt quite natural to begin to write them myself. When I’m not writing, I like to wander around museums or walk through Glasgow and other Scottish places looking for traces of history to inspire my next novel.
